THE CHEVROLET STAR 3rd GLOBAL INDIAN MUSIC ACADEMY (GiMA) AWARDS ANNOUNCES ITS NON-FILM MUSIC NOMINATIONS

July 24, 2011, Mumbai:The biggest annual celebration of Indian Music, the Chevrolet Star 3rd Global Indian Music Academy (GiMA) Awards today announced its nominees in the non-film music category for its 3rd edition. An initiative by Wizcraft International Entertainment, GiMA is a pioneering effort to recognize Indian music, transcending genres in the country giving the music industry a unified platform to celebrate its talent. |

GiMA is the ONLY Music Awards platform with a voting process based on a peer-to-peer recognition. Nominees are selected by a Jury panel of over 30 eminent members (Music & Film industry) and later presented to the GiMA Academy for the final voting. The illustrious Jury members for the Non-film category include Anup Jalota, Dr. L. Subramaniam, Ehsaan Noorani, Hariharan, Ila Arun, Lesle Lewis, Loy Mendonsa, Pankaj Udhas, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, Raju Singh, Ram Sampath , Roop Kumar Rathod, Salim Merchant, Shantanu Moitra, Suresh Wadkar, Swanand Kirkire, Taufiq Qureshi, Shashi Vyas, Shankar Mahadevan and Ustad Rashid Khan. The Academy comprises over 300 members from the music & film industry encompassing industry stalwarts, music directors, producers, lyricists, singers, technicians, composers and leaders in the music business. The Academy’s votes are then tabulated by KPMG who are the process auditors for GiMA, after which the winners will be determined. Music Labels, Film Producers and Independent artistes are now invited to enter music released between 1st April 2011 and 31st March 2012.
